For this song (a parody) I have gratefully borrowed the melody, the rhythm and the structure of the great Brotochari song "chol kodal chalai/ bhule maner balai." I have written the words, made the song, recorded and mixed it on 25 April, 2013, following Mr Sudipto Sen's arrest and the Hon'bl Chief Minister's press statement that she intended to increase the tax on tobacco products to raise money to pay back those poor people who had invested in Mr Sudipto Sen's chit fund. It's a parody without any malice. It's just a critique. I salute the great Gurusaday Dutta, the founder of the Brotochari Movement which hardly exists in our Bengal any more. KabirSuman.
