Some of my songs have a story to them. 'Ghor Jeno Hoy Shokkoler' is one of my most favourite songs, but I didn't record it for any of my albums. I played it in a few concerts. But not in the last 8/9 years. I have made so many songs that I don't remember them all. Meanwhile, dementia is taking its toll. A song is never just words or the text. In fact, the music attracts a normal individual more. But of course, the definition of 'normal' can be at variance. The more I listen to the music that is being made and sold the more I doubt if individuals like yours faithfully have even a very small place here in this country or in this state. Going by what goes as 'music' I wonder if I am alive or if I am just a ghost of someone who died many years ago along with people who were not tone-deaf. I have recorded this song for those few people who still care for a song - not just sheer words or the inane sounds made by musically illiterate and uneducated people. I have recorded it for those few who feel more and more cornered in matters of taste and who understand that 'modernism' was not born yesterday but many years ago.
